Bushing replacement
« on: May 27, 2022, 11:43:30 AM »
Is there a heavey duty replacement for control arm bushings?

I just got my machine back from the shop and they say I have excessive play in my rear lower control arm bushings.  The thing only has 274km on it.... not overly impressed so far.  3 months of owning and had to replace the axle and now bushings....

Being new even without greasing them they should last longer then that. So double check them for yourself. With that said, if they are the yellow ones, they will wear faster then the updated black ones...however know that the black ones are still not Delron plastic which is self-lubricating and is what ASR uses. Many including me bought the ASR kits for the RzR 800s and had to glue the bushing into the a-arms as the fit there was too loose and..as CFM used their own sleeve..which is slightly smaller in diameter then what the ASR bushings need ...there was a little play there. The up-side was that play didn't change much in several thousand miles. I have some "How Tos" in the how-to section on doing this...some in a video as I recall. Recently my rear knuckle bushing started getting play...probably because of the wheel spacers...and decided I would go back to a set of CFM black bushings and new sleeves. I was not happy about what I had to pay for these but...at least no play..and I will grease them before every ride now instead of every other.

CFMoto USA Parts has a new high end Bushings Kit as well as separate bushing parts.

Has anyone tried the Blue Polyurethane bushings in the link above... found them on the sellers website also

I have an outer rear bushing with some play and no sense getting inferior parts if I have to keep replacing them.

No but..they are probably a better bushing then the CFM polyurethane bushing. Too bad they aren't Delron or Delrin plastic as they are self lubricating and lasted a very long time. Used to use them on my Kawasaki and before they quit making them I got a set of ASRs for the 800 RzR and adapted them to my Z. The only ones that wore a little were the rear knuckles because of the wheel spacers. The rest are like new still. I would still go with these blue ones over the CFM though.
