Searched before asking - Can someone tell me the actual fuel capacity of the fuel tank? The manual shows 7.1 gallon, "reserve" flashes at .9 gallon. Is the total capacity 8 gallons?

It means the total capacity is 7.1 gallons when filled to just below the neck but the low fuel warning starts when there is "around" .9 gallons of fuel left in the tank.

Lol..I think mine too is supposed to have 7.13 gallons (27 liters) and I used to take extra fuel with me but haven't in years cause I just never needed it. When I get down to two bars it seems to go pretty fast though. Not sure how accurate the gauges are but I know I get around 21mpg so that 7.13 gallons should take me about 149 miles. I need to really check it sometime.

I will carry three 2.5 gallon containers to double my range  With failed rotator cuff surgeries on both shoulders, I don't want to handle anything bigger. I still don't know if my adventure will happen, but having fun dreaming about it

I hope it does happen for you. I rigged the mounts on top of my storage box so I could carry one of my 4 gallon and/or one of my 3 gallon flat packs. Lately, with the shorter rides I just leave them at camp and gas-up when we get back.

Thanx, and nice setup. I have the Sherpa cargo rack. I bought a large plastic trailer tongue box that fit perfect in the bed, but I can't fully open the lid, so I returned it & will just "open" carry stuff using straps. Valuable / weather sensitive items will be kept in the trailer. To keep 50" width, I will put one rotopax style container on each side of the Sherpa, not sure what to do with the third yet. Will experiment when I buy them.
