battery wires
« on: April 26, 2022, 10:36:42 AM »
I'm having issues putting my battery cover back on. When I picked up my ride the cover was off for battery charging.  the PO also had 2 machines, my 800 EX and a 950 Sport.  Hoping I did not get handed the wrong cover. I'm wondering if the Previous owner used too tall of a battery. I also have a random red wire heavy GA that runs from a block just behind the battery to the battery.  I took that wire off the battery to see if I could fit the cover without that in the way.  What is that wire for? Trying to attach a pic but it's not posting. do any of you have issues with your battery cover?

The cover on any Z is a PITA but I have not had wires/cables be an issue before. The older ones don't have that block but as a standard, the positive terminal will have two heavy cables-one to the starter solenoid and one to the winch controller and the at least one if not two smaller #10g wires for systems power and/or P/S motor.

I will say that I found it best if all the wires and cables face either away from the cover or to the side...never at or towards the cover.
