Well doing some maintenance on moto after my first use yesterday i found my front upper control arm loose. On inspection the nut was backed off to just about falling off and my control arm would slide back and forth about 3/16 of a inch. I do not think the bolt would come out but heck it still shocked me to see this. I do not think it was ever tighten. I had to put a washer in it to get it to tighten back up ..I then proceeded to check back suspension and found the bottom bushings have at least 1/8 up and down play at the rear wheel arms. Is this normal??
thanks guys

Typical. We have said in many posts to replace the air filter first before even taking delivery if not before the first ride, then check all the bolts and nuts starting with suspension. Also check that the cotter pins are in the tie rod ends and ball joints. Many are missing.

No, play on any bushing is not normal..but play happens fast when the bolts are loose and the mount holes get egged-out. You must torque all the suspension bolts to spec plus 5lbs. This is more then important. Just tight won't cut it.

I did order the twin air and a oil spray and cleaner . Just not in yet.. I was just surprised at what i found..  So i guess its normal for a new ride like these to be a cluster fook of loose bolts and crap..lol A good lesson learned for me..
thanks  ;D

Well..they are all different but most have something loose and the dealers usually don't catch it..probably not on their prep check list. Once tight they stay.

I also replaced all my a arm bolts with higher grade bolts and double lock nutted them.  They are good and tight now and never come loose.
