go to the passenger side rear tire. look inside the wheel well in front of the tire. there will be a large plastic cover that is bolted, should be 2 10mm bolts. remove that cover and there is the air box.

I assume you are changing it out to a Unifilter or TwinAir. Don't use the CFM stock filter...at all.

I would keep the stock filter and put it back in before you bring it into the dealer just in case.  If you had an issue they could blame any aftermarket filter or poor oiling in the filter.

No, but if there is a question, get the Twinair cause CFM has certified it's use. This one:

The stock paper filter can kill your engine in less then a thousand miles if you ride in dust.

My dealer installed the twin Air filter and pre-filter before I even took it home.

Both CFmoto dealers by me said they had never heard of any issue with the air filter lol. We aren't too dusty around here though I guess.

I wonder if some of the later models had these issues fixed.  My air filter worked fine, although I did change it after a hundred miles or so.

Anybody else have issues with the seal on the air box?  Mine is terrible.

I will have to take a picture of the filter. The rig only has 1 mile on it. The filter looks like the one on amazon . I will open the box again in the morning and take a pic
 thanks all

I have trouble with mine almost every time I open it. But I found if I use Rim Grease on the seal and make sure the lid is centered in the seal before I start snapping the clamps down, it behaves and seals OK. I use this stuff

My first ride yesterday was 100 miles . We ate tons of dust all day.  Now my questions is.... are there two air cleaners in the air intake . All i see is the one at the real pass wheel.  Also do i have to purchase some oil for the air filter when i buy the twin air filter
thanks all .. Oh any way to resize my pictures . .. My 3rd party has no resize options. I use vgy.me

From the factory there is only the one in the air box and..one pre filter over the end of the intake. The pre filter can be gotten to by taking the cover or grill off the between the seats. You should do this often. YES you must buy filter oil for your new foam filter. Otherwise it won't trap dirt and dust. And most filter oils need a special cleaner to dissolve that oil when cleaning. I just switched-over to FAB-1 and it's cleaner. Great stuff. On the photo resizing- not from the site but you can resize then on your computer before uploading. Yours are fine though...don't worry about them.
