Adding turn signals?
« on: April 26, 2016, 08:55:35 PM »
So I just purchased a 2016 z800ex eps, I'm in the states and I noticed what looks like a prewired harness for turn signals. I would like to use a factory dash switch, does anyone have that part number? Also for the relay? And possibly a wiring diagram? I apologize for so many requests but I drive it on the street too and have been having a hard time finding any info on some of the factory parts. Thank you

I think @emersonsc might be able to point you in the right direction on this one.

I know the international versions come with turn signals from the factory.

Send me a PM and I'll get you taken care of. You'll need to add front turn signals, replace the rear taillights with the built in signals, a flasher, and the switch. Price for the whole kit is around $389

If you look at the rear lights on the Canadian or European models they do in fact have a turn signal built in.

He's not wrong....new tail lights, two front lights to fit into the grill, relay, and rocker style switch.  I ordered the kit the day I bought mine.  See the pics below.

Just curious but does the hazard lights work now that you hooked all that up ?

I do not have the Hazard switch installed, only the switch to operate turn signals.  But there is a harness  there.  So you could buy the CFM switch or just grab one off amazon that you like better.  I'm going to use that space to add another rocker style switch for the winch so I'm not limited to just the corded control.

That is a great idea!

Post a link for the winch switch when you find it. I have looked but came up short. All the ones I found were latching and that could be bad for me. It needs a on-off-on momentary rocker.

I see the plugs for the front signals, but for the rears do you just plug them into the harness where existing lights plug in or is there an additional plug I'm not finding? Also do you have a picture of the relay mounted?

Sorry for the delay..just saw this....I just went out and took a few pics for you.  You should use the same harness in the rear...as for the relay...take your hood off...take out the plastic storage...on the passenger side just past plastic firewall....you should see a group of wires...now Im going from memory but I believe the colored wires are brown/black, green, and grey,  this is the harness for the relay.  You won;t have a lot of slack but try to find the driest spot possible...(especially if you like to play in the water/mud)to either lay the relay or zip tie it down.  any more questions..let me know.
