2019 800 Trail
« on: June 06, 2020, 07:06:30 PM »
So took the trail for its first ride today at Cat hole in NH. I was not able to get around many places as I kept bottoming out. My brother who has the EX was able to get around easier. I was thinking about doing a lift? Get some more ground clearance with some wheel spacers? Running stick rims and tires. Do you think I could just go with a bigger tire? Any help would be great. Thanks all.

You can go with 28" tires with no problems..maybe 29s. Although lifts are not recommended for the Trails because of their short a-arms some do get away with 2" bracket lifts and a softer shock setting that drops it to more like 1-1.5" over norm. And like me the 1.5" wheel spacers add a little extra stability...and mostly looks to the stance. I don't run a lift but do run 27" tires with the spacers but I also run Bandit shocks up front and their springs in back which give me the adjust-ability for any ride height I might want. That and some home made outer steel belly armor keeps me out of trouble..most of the time.

Nothing wrong with a little bigger tires and some better skid plates. Both Iron Baltic and Ricochet make some of the best.
