16 Z8 Fuel Pressure
« on: September 07, 2021, 07:51:32 PM »
So I have about 530 miles on a Z800 all stock except for Uni filter. I have a bad run issue. It is making one plug wet, and the other is very black and burnt looking. Has not been starting until today when it started, but runs real rough, and will not pick up any RPMs. It has a little popping sound in the air box. Do I need to check valves? What are the specs, and how do I find TDC on the little thing? Used to old Chevy's with a little more room, and access. Please help!!!

First thing: Compression test.

Fuel pressure: ~45 psi

TDC: rotate engine until both valves closed. I use a screwdriver in the spark plug hole  and wait for it to stop rising to find TDC, but there are timing marks on the cam gear as well.

I turn the engine over using the fan on the side of the engine.
