Problem with CFMoto 800NK App Connectivity
« on: June 23, 2025, 03:55:10 PM »
Hi there.

I've owned my 800NK for almost a year now with no problems, but last week an issue appeared mid ride that I only noticed when I got back home. At one of the rest stops of my sunday ride, the bike stopped communicating with the app. It's not the near communications via bluetooth, or carplay/motoplay, that still works fine, it's rather the long distance communications that stopped working. I know that there's some kind of modem/SIM card/Data plan that allows the bike to stay connected and send data even when the phone is not nearby. And I think that's what stopped working.

Here is a print screen of the app showing what I mean: https://imgur.com/a/J1wWQkN. Please keep in mind I've never seen the bike with no signal before in 1 year of use and 14 000km, and I've been to pretty remote places.

As soon as I noticed this I connected the bike to my home wifi and noticed an update. I downloaded and installed it hoping it would fix the issue but it didn't. In fact I think it added another issue. I'm not sure if it was the update or if it's related with the first problem, but now the turn signal lights are also misbehaving. I mean the handlebar aux lights, not the ones in the display, those work fine, it's a screen after all. When I turn left both lights flash, when I turn right none of them flash, and when I turn on the hazards it works normally. Please see video: https://imgur.com/a/IUzuP4R. The other light functions seem to work alright (Low fuel, ride mode switch, etc...).

After this I decided to know more about the issue and plugged in a rather primitive OBDII reader that managed to get me this report:

Code: [Select]
Connection profile: [ OTHER BRAND ] OBD-II / EOBDDate: 23/06/2025 19:41:40
VIN: LC***********19
============================
OBD-IIOBD-II
DTCs: 2
----------------------------
U0155(87) [0xC15587] Archive (inactive)
Data bus, instrumentation control module - no communication
Status: Test failed since last DTC clear
----------------------------
P0322(00) [0x032200] Archive (inactive)
Crankshaft position (CKP) sensor/engine speed (RPM) sensor - no signal
Status: Test failed since last DTC clear

I did not clean any of the codes, just wanted to see what was in there. I'm assuming the first code could be the culprit, and the second I'm assuming it could be triggered when I stalled the bike because I've never seen the check engine light on, or noticed any performance issues with the motor. Just guessing here, don't really know much about this kind of stuff.

After this I contacted CFMoto IT email (contact from App Store) and they told me to replace the part, I'm assuming the modem or whatever is called. Already contacted my dealership, but since they are full, I will only get an appointment next week.

Until then, I'd like to know if this has happened to anyone here? And if you know the reason and fix please do let me know so I can help the dealership guys and get it fixed asap. Summer just started where I live.

Thanks everyone in advance, hope to hear from you!
