Speedometer/odometer quit working
« on: August 29, 2016, 11:10:31 AM »
I have a 2013 Z6 EX. On my last ride the speedometer shows 0 and the odometer shows the miles, but neither worked during the ride.

Does anyone have an idea on what I should check to fix it?

Thanks,
Jerry

The speed sensor or the connection to it might be to blame. Please download the manual at the top of this category. It will give you what it looks like and where it is. Might be a test for it, but I don't know. If you need more help, please let us know.

I have the service manual. I cannot tell from it where the speed sensor is located.

On the Z8s they are on the front output shaft at the engine.

OK, I had to do some looking but here it is.
Per manual.
1-21 location of connector. Might actually be right. But follow the wire from the sensor to be sure

6-51 item #24 in diagram is sensor. It's near the dipstick.
