Holes in the Bed/Lateral Panels to hold Bungees
« on: August 20, 2016, 01:43:44 AM »
Hi All. Anyone of you knows or did cut the cargo bed lateral area so can pass bungees or other straps?

If so could you please share what you did with me?

Thanks JJ

In the picture attached the marked area is the one "to be cutted"

What are you trying to get done. Is there something that your trying to mount there? If you just want storage, I used a Plano storage box. It was cheap and keeps water out. Still had room for other things in the bed.

Hi.What i Want is to have the holes that have the ZF800 the ZF600 only have the mimic of those holes so you can't really place any kind of straps or bungees.I have a storage box, but I usually carry other stuff for camping and the net only could be tied to the A pillars in the cage and not to the actual bed side.

Hope I explain myself...

I wouldn't recommend cutting it out. For the simple fact the body panel itself would probably crack if strapped up

There are two holes on the top. Maybe you can find a bar or something like that to mount using them

Yeah I might be more tempted to find something with a frame and loops that mount on top. Gota be something out there...or maybe just make something.

Maybe some version of this:

or this:

or even this would give some flexibility:

Wonder if you can make the RZR 800 ones work somehow.

Thanks for the great inputs. I choose not to cut and try to manufacture in aluminium something similar the options that you gave me. using the two allen attachment points available in that area of the Bed.

Will post pictures once I have something finished

By the way. Any of you have a good GPS installed in your ZForce?

BsRgds

By the way. Any of you have a good GPS installed in your ZForce?

I use two different ones right now depending on where I am. When in bright sunny areas like the desert I am using my old Garmin 60CS mounted to the grab bar:

When in darker locations like woods I use my 10.1" tablet with downloaded Arial maps using a program called BackCountry Navigator. This one I mount next to the mirror. Seems to be the best place:

I do plan on replacing both with what one that most of the desert racers use soon. The Lowrance Trophy 5m Baja:

Hi. Thanks for the input, here in Bolivia we cant go any other way than Garmin, basically there is only one map available in electronic format and that one is the OpenStreetMap (OSM) (I am one of the editors).

Neither Garmin nor Tom-Tom have a official map of Bolivia (and several other countries of Latam)

The 5M-Baja looks very similar in form to the old Garmin 478 Gpsmap in the rugged sense. My vision is not so good and I want something with a big screen, that I could check quickly while driving.

Thanks and best regards

JJ
