CVT Filter box

I am working on making an alum. filter box with cover for the CVT that fits behind the drivers seat. I think I will start with an air filter for the newer Subaru's. They are easy to find, are a good size and have a prefilter over the pleats. My question is how may of the Z6 owners would be interested it one? I don't think they will be over $200 and I may get better pricing from the local fab shops if I want more than just one. I don't have the resources to make this one. I will be working on the design and should have a print in the near future to get some quotes.

Something along these lines with a flat filter and cover that won't let water run in.

What have you came up with for the CVT filter box? I was going to plat in the junk yards this weekend to see what I could find. Do you have any measurements?

Nothing yet. This project got benched until I can clear my backlog. While I was looking for a suitable box, I  did notice the older lasaber boxes looked promising and the cabin filter box from BMW.

Good idea, I hadn't even thought of a cabin filter box I'll do some homework see what I come up with this weekend I'll let you know.

I also found custom air boxes for sport atv's. I'm not sure if any of these would work, but if I could get a design and enough interest, I could get something like that made.

I came up with the idea.  I installed the new Uni air filter so I had this one left over. It was the filter used on the 800's. I plummed it through the lower back wall behind the seat. Hopefully this will cut down on the dust. I am going to run it dry making it easy to clean..

Nice! I wanted to do something like that too as the Z8s have that little spot too but..too much stuff on the other side like the battery. That should do you well.

That is behind the driver seat. It is a straight line from where the upper tube goes up high behind the driver. I removed the upper tube a fabbed it to go lower. The battery is in front of where it comes out. I can still get to the battery , no problem. I will take some more pics.
