Hello, I was wondering how is the best way to get to the crankcase vent tube on my z600? I have come to the Conclusion that the air vent is  blocked. I have noticed that when I checked my oil after running the engine there is pressure where I unscrew the dipstick. This indicates to me that the air vent is blocked. Any help would be appreciated.

Well, the crankcase vent tubes run from a upper center point of the engine to the airbox. On the 800s it's to a port on the lid. In any case you should be able to follow it from the airbox back to the engine. Yes, it must be blocked as there never should be pressure on the crankcase. It will push the seals out so fix this before any more running. Probably just kinked somewhere.

Thank you for the help, how do you access it? It is barely visible and I was wondering if there was an easier way than dissasembling the whole rear of the machine.

Not sure on a Z6. My Z8 is fully accessible from the right side. Can't be too tough.

I'll start tomorrow after work. If there is a check valve I'll take it off and try installing a PVC catch can. I will check with the dealer as well if there is in fact a check valve

Well in case anybody cares, I have repaired my oil leak that I've had since I bought it as well as the pressure in my crankcase. I took the back access panel off behind the seats and discovered that my crankcase vent was about 2-3 inches too long and kinked in two places so badly that I am surprised the machine ran at all. For those of you with an oil leak, please check your crank case breather hose. This was clearly installed wrong from the factory and the hose was too long.

Took it for a nice test ride with no leaking, I'll take it out again tomorrow. Machine seams to run better/smoother
