I was wondering if anyone out there has tried to do a conversion to an 800 in a 600ex. The motor in my 600 is wiped out, totally destroyed from sand getting past the air filter. So I thought that if I need to replace a motor maybe I can upgrade to the 800, if anyone has any comments or ideas I'd appreciate the imput.

aren't the frames the same? I assume the gear box is probably the same, maybe a little different gearing but probably would bolt up. Might have an issue with the electronics though might need an ECM for the 800?

The chassis and electrical is different so it's not going to be a strait swap.

I didn't compare part numbers but I would think that the radiator and brake systems are larger on the 800.

I don't think this is going to be that easy. If I had to do the work, I would do a rotax build. 650 or 800. If you want to keep it easier, could try to find a 600 cfmoto atv for the engine. Watch the insurance auctions and see what pops up. If you have a donor machine and some skills, you can do it.

Or you could just pull that engine, send it to nFlow, tell them to step it up a notch or two and have a better engine then it came with originally...with a full warranty.

A lot of the auctions are local so Google is your source for that unless you like road trips.

[Hi, what "Insurance Auctions" were you referring to? I'd like to check them out, can you provide a name or a link? Thanks ahead of time for your help!]

In MN there is crashed toys dot com. There has to be many out there like it. They buy up totaled ATVs and the like from the insurance companys and auction them off.
