CVT Belt
« on: February 18, 2021, 11:08:59 PM »
Hello everyone.
Does anyone know the size of the CVT belt for a 2020 Cforce 450L?.  I tried looking in the owners manual and the service manual but no luck there.  Also looking at the belt there are some markings yet they are unreadable.   Please send links of possible options or perhaps a part number.
Any helps is appreciated.

The size, other then the width, won't be listed in the manuals. You can look up the OE belt on any CFM parts site like Alpha-sports.com, CFMotoparts.com. You can also look up possible aftermarket belts on the Gates and Ultimax belt sites for your model.

Thank you so much Skogsvarelse that Ultimax belt is way more affordable than the OEM.  How long do these belts last on your machine?

Depends on the operator. Some can waste a belt in only a few miles where other get 8,000 miles. An average lifespan for one that is serviced regularly and taken care of by an owner that understands what's going on is anywhere between 2,000 and 5,000 miles. I have about 1,800 on mine in my Z and it still looks new and measures well in the operable range.

Well with this mistake of getting the system wet and mud everywhere, plus the not drying it immediately after and actually running the machine for a long time until the belt started slipping Im pretty sure I diminished the useful life on my belt....still not a tragedy but it has being a good learning experience.  From now on I will check it more often and specially after a wet ride.

And doing so like that also took many thousands of miles of life off the clutches..mostly the primary sheaves. Better check them both for wear spots/flat areas. May already find something like this...if so, belts won't last anymore...time for a new clutch.

On the ultimax belts i have gotten so far about 8000-10000 km. Thats a good amount of road driving. I replaced my factory belt at about 8000km as it was worn down to the thickness the manual says you should replace the belt at.

Thanks NMKawierider I will check the clutches too.  I am right now placing an order for the necessary tools to be able to take the clutch apart yet since im in Ecuador the importing process is gonna take some time, maybe 15 days, and  until then my baby sits lonely and untouched in the garage lol.  Once I get the tools I will report back with any findings.    Also really appreciate the detail picture that really shows what to look for.

Thanks Skogsvarelse I am ordering an Ultimax belt.  I'll be happy if I get anywhere near your 8 to 10000 kilometers.     Once I get the necessary tools I'll be able to meticulously inspect and measure my original belt that so far has less that 1000 kilometers.  Hopefully it still has some life in it but im really not holding my bread over it hahaha.
