Break-in Period
« on: November 02, 2021, 10:44:48 AM »
Hi, another question about the Break-In Period.
In my manual i can't figure out about if it's possible to carry a passenger or not. The CF400 has 20 km on the counter now.
I see in the manual at point 8: Do pull or carry any loads during the break-in period
Then the next page: Do not load or tow cargo..
Anybody know if i can carry my wife on the 400? Or does she needs to walk?
Thanks a lot!

It's important to understand what happens during a break-in period...ie what wears-in such as rings, piston skirts, cam/rocker surfaces, gear surfaces...ect and how heat expands things, depleting tolerances. To a point you want some of this and in short bursts followed by a cool-down period where the expansion rests but not long periods of either. Do some homework on engine break-in and then you will understand what is happening inside. Carry the wife..but watch the temp. You will be applying load and costing a lot so let her know it's just break-in.
