We went on a 4 hour ride this weekend and for about the last 1/4 of the ride my Z1000 would not rev up and would only let me give about 1/4 throttle or it would stumble, felt like it was going to die, as long as I only applied light throttle it would run. After We got back, I cleaned it up and let it sit for about an hour and then took it out on the road it ran fine, any thoughts as to what may cause this? I did keep an eye on the dash for the whole ride as I am paranoid about losing oil pressure or over heating as my other unit a Uforce 800 had defective oil lines and my friend toasted the motor, there were no warning lights and the temperature was the normal 3 bars, same as last 2 years.

The first two most common things that can cause this is low fuel pressure and low coil voltage. Both should have generated an error and caused the MIL light to flash though. Still...worth checking. May be just a stuck tank check valve. Another cause is lack of air but that should have continued after the clean-up. Dis you notice anything elase while this was happening like any other dash lights on...maybe the 4wd indicator? Seat belt light?...ect?

No dash lights came on. I will be taking it out again this weekend, hopefully it won't happen again.

When it would not run properly, did you shut it down for a minute and restart to see if the problem persisted?

Something to consider if there is a next time.

My brother had similar issues with his XC, and he could clear it doing this. It was eventually fixed under warranty at the dealer.

My friend and me had the same issue with both of our 1000's. The are both very early builds, mine the first delivered to Albuquerque. CFMOTO replaced the ECMs in both of ours although I have heard that they may now be reflashing them. If you shut it off it should reboot itself and run fine. I'd sure check with your dealer to see if they  will cover it.

Went another ride yesterday and about 2 hours in the ride the same issue happened, I immediately stopped and turned of machine, restarted and it ran fine after that.

Hey guys same thing happed to me this weekend, would not climb over 4800 hrs ( 50km/h) and could only press 1/4 throttle to keep it there but after an engine shut off and restart, its was fine. what was the cause? ECU problem?

It can be a number of things including being in an RPM limiter state such as the diff-loc being on, the reverse indicator being on, or a problem with low fuel pressure/supply or low system voltage....and a vary plugged-up air filter can do this. Is there any odd lights on or flashing on the dash?

These machines also have a seatbelt safety. Could be as simple as the seatbelt switch not working properly.
