Broken mounting bolt for the drive pulley!
« on: March 24, 2022, 06:02:01 AM »
Hi everyone I am new has on the forum and has a big problem that I am trying to help my neighbor with.

He has a ZForce 1000 which he has pulled off the mounting bolt for the drive pulley. According to him, he pulled the bolt in the right direction when he pulled it off

He has also drilled a hole in the pulled bolt but not centered.

Have read the service manual I received here but find nothing useful that helps me move forward with the problem.

Does anyone here have any smart tips and tricks?

Regards
Mattias

It's likely he didn't turn it in the correct direction or he used an impact on a bolt that was already over-torqued. As that shaft is part of the crankshaft and must have that retainer bolt for the clutch, if it can not be extracted the crank will have to be replaced...and by not drilling the center for an extractor/ease-out, he even lessened his chances for success. Still, if he hasn't drilled through any threads or peened it in any way there is a chance with some heat to the shaft and a left-handed threaded ease-out. It really needs to go to someone that knows what they are doing..like a machine shop or certified mechanic. Be sure the shop/mechanic knows it's a left-handed thread bolt. Otherwise, this is going to be a very expensive lesson on his behalf.

ive done the same .but i used a ratck wrench ,to tighten the bolt
by the way it looks it was cracked, but so ive read lots ,watched vids ,
but that inside disc will not come off
back to the bolt.
i figure that bolt is threaded into the shaft that the tranmission turns
so no matter how you try the shaft has to be replaced
so NEVER OVER TIGHTEN PPL
