DELAYED TILL MODEL 2026
« on: November 21, 2024, 09:44:04 AM »
Just saw the sad news release from real talk powersports that Z-10 has officially been delayed till model year 2026. Time to cancel my deposit I was counting on this machine for my yearly colorado offload trip.  Dang

Dang-it. Well, at least you know now. Maybe grab a used 950 until then.

Unfortunately they don't have a 950 4 seater.  I may consider going back to can am I really want some boost in my life again 😆 🤣.  Good news is maybe that rumored 200+ HP model will come also. I may just be on the sidelines this year. I can always rent oneup in co.

Oh, didn't realize you needed a 4-seater. Yeah Can Am and Polaris make some good ones...but the cost...wow. I really want the short Yamaha RMAX 1000-4 only because it's short enough to fit on my truck and can haul 4..or just my dog in the back seat :) Can't justify 22-26K for new though so it will have to be used.

I've seen a lot of Rmax guys going to YXZ's and KRX's in the last couple months.  There are definitely some good used Rmax's on the market right now, and you can get a smoking deal on some of them.  The SxS market is slooooooooowwww right now and dealers and individual sellers are dropping prices like crazy just to get rid of them.  Its a great time to shop around.

I'd love to know what specifically didn't match their expectations.  I'm guessing they were having widespread mechanical issues, but it would be cool if they decided to change it up and go with a bigger power plant to compete with the other flagship models out there.

Just too many (recent) factors to even wild guess at.
I'll add upcoming tariffs, the aforementioned crappy economy/used car glut, the recent shot across the bow involving spyware, the unlikely claim that they were ever going sell for $20K in the first place, (etc.; etc.).
As mentioned also...who in the heck is going to immediately bite on a Z10 at 143 HP anyways (again) after that amount of time has passed???
Ever since release, everybody and his brother was letting the cat out of the bag that the very next model would be pushing 212 Hp at the very least with patent drawings to prove it.

Is anybody going to be stupid enough to not wait but a few more months after this thing is 're-released' again (and I don't care what else more is added to it) to make certain exactly what's up their sleeve next and just as importantly..for how much?

Exactly I was on that same thought with the tariff talk and the ban.  I was all in at the price that was announced for this machine but like you said by the time the final product reaches the consumer it will be so closely matched to the big 2 that I imagine the price point will also be on par with them.  At which point we've lost what I belive many of us have loved about cf moto. The value.

Yeah I would define the former(?) value proposition that you just hit right on the head as this:
A light years more advanced car with frankly everything that I could have ever wanted in one included (my favorite being the adjustable shock settings) for exactly the same price that I paid 10 years ago for a POS in the same basic category/size.

I told the dealer that I had one reserved with to put my name down on the next model to come out if the tariffs and who knows what else doesn't kill the comparative value in today's dollars.
They've already admitted at launch that this car was on an aggressive launch schedule.
I'll wait to see if they stick that same engine with the intercooler in it this time around in that same 64" width (212 HP or so supposedly) ad brace myself for the price.
What I value that extra HP today at I have no idea..yet 145 HP @ $20-23K (next year) would be about as far as I would go (again) if the next model is ridiculously high..which is likely.

I also find it interesting that (basically) no one apparently knows anything anymore regarding brand development, sightings or even false rumors of what is going on anywhere.
I just ended a short career with a local Fortune 500 and was astonished at the lack of curiousness and even basic will to seek out  where one's jobs may be headed tomorrow or if they would even have one the next.
For decades, and especially with the advent of the internet, there was always someone somewhere who knew a little something and was willing to share it, rumor or not.
For heaven's sakes, they just hauled a bunch of these dealers halfway around the world (see the video) and supposedly showed them Z10s pouring off the line like water. That ship doesn't stop on a dime so there is sure as blazes someone somewhere who knows what happened there in China or what even their new plant in Mexico is producing if anything. These are not small operations nor small potato product introductions.

Sometimes I feel as if the world opened up not that long ago...yet the people in it (since) have been too self-absorbed and/or just plain lacking in experience to do much with it. It used to be pretty common for hard and fast evaluations of quality versus value versus availability to take place with lightning speed resulting in fortunes made just as quickly.

Now we're looking at perhaps the most exciting machine to hit the sport in 10 years simply fall off the face of the earth via but one vague news release  (that's it; nothing more to say; maybe we'll be back next year; who knows; nobody sure as heck had better ever 'tell' if they do...ever). :roll eyes:

Yeah I got tired of the waiting and lack of news. I was also putting off my vacation as I had been waiting for a for seat z force. I want impressed with the floor seat support as my u force 1000 seemed just as powerful. Finally went and got a for seat xp pro with 180 HP. just to get in with my life. Maybe I'll get the second version z10 with more HP one day. The rzr is a beast but was not price sensitive for sure.

So I just saw on realtalkpowersports on you tube that the z10 is coming back soon. It was posted on September 3rd. Sounds like the price didn't go up much due to tariffs. It seems those hit can am and polaris much harder. I can't wait to see it.

Thanks for the update!!!
I have no idea how these companies work anymore...yet if I had something anywhere near production ready..and I had just previously shamed the whole brand (basically) by historically first time ever on the sxs-related planet backed out of the single most exciting product that I had ever produced...
...I would at least be on the only forum out there who has ever given a rip one way or the other scooping them some inside info/throwing some bones.

Show me anywhere else where these two cars have been discussed at length save for spoiled brat idiots bashing them.

Typical of this whole goat rodeo with the Z10s:
Guy teases that he'll give us some new information...and does not.

Somebody needs to go up there to Minnesota and see if all of those former Polaris, CanAm, (etc.) engineers are even gainfully employed any longer or not...
