Volts?
« on: October 01, 2025, 06:35:22 PM »
2023 cfmoto zforce 950 sport, question:What are you guys/gals seeing for voltage while driving mine varies from 11.7 /11.4 .Pulled battery had it checked (because it wouldn't turn over or start one day ) and auto parts store says it tested fine..Cleaned the posts and terminals and it has started just fine ever since. 5-6 days now, used every day, but I never toggled to watch the voltage till lately so I don't know what it was previously. I thought it should be higher but........
Thanks in advance
Jim

that seems a little bit low to me my 2023 Z-Force consistently runs 13.9 to 14.1

Running even at idle it should never fall below 13.7 and above 2500 rpm it should not exceed 14.8. Normal is 14.2-14.5 at or above 2500. Something to note is that CFM's volt meters are known to be ...well...off a bit. Not usually that much though. If you charged the battery and then had it load tested and it showed OK, then it's likely a failing stator coil. If you had the manual you could do a quick test of the stator's output. It would first be an ohm test of each phase, then voltage test of each straight to ground, then voltage between the phases. A low voltage reading on a phase would tell you it has a bad coil. If all were good then I would look to the rectifier/regulator.

Found out it's the stator and I believe the magneto mabey anyways quoted $2111.00 to fix. Decided with the wife that's it's best to trade it in so we did. Now a proud owner of a 2025 Polaris XP General 1000 Ultimate. Took an Ass kicking on the trade in but its not my problem anymore .

Thanks,
Jim

F'k they saw you coming. The Stator/Mag is only $382. Half that at RMStator ($196).  Gaskets, seals and oil.. and about 2.5 hours time should have put it at or just under 600 bucks. Well, the General XP is a great machine...wish I had one. Enjoy it. :)
