Hi all

Just got my new 950 delivered to me yesterday. I am a bit surprised with rather high clutch/CVT engagement RPM.
Some above 3000 RPM - feels rather high comparing to my previous BRP and Yamaha ATV experience.

Is it something wrong here? / Needs to break-in? /All OK?

Thank you!

Many are reporting higher engagement RPMs...and not only the 950, but the 600 as well. Many are changing-out either the spring to a lighter low end or to slightly heavier flyweights. They are getting it down to around 23-2500.

Thanks for reply!
What is the feedback after changing the spring/weights?
Is it becoming more comfortable? What are the benefits?

Thank you

Mostly lower engagement with the spring as they use one with the same compressed rating just lower at the start... and lower RPMs throughout the speed range if using the heavier weights.

I checked mine yesterday.  Mine is now down to right at 2K.  I changed out both the spring in the primary and the weights from 16g to 18g weights and then re-clocked the secondary to B3.  Made a huge difference.

This is one thing I could not get used too and really disliked about the machine.  Doing the clutch work made it feel closer to my other machines.  Easy to do and well worth the little bit of time/$$.

It appears that's cfmoto is aware of plastic sliders in the clutch are melting and causing damage and they are not doing a recall. We must come together and demand they fix this issue properly and provide a recall for all cfmotos using plastic sliders.
