Going to mines and meadows this weekend and will try to run it in high gear and see if it gets between, but the crawling, mud, and never realy getting over 15 mph might put me back in 2 wheel low.

I am 90% under 20mph doing sand trails, rocky 6" steps, washes, and tight turns.  So I'm in Low Gear all that time.

I'd really like to know the actual range on the tank.   I get red flashes on the fuel gauge at about 70 miles.  When I fill up, the machine takes about 4.5-5 gallons.  It seems interesting that the gauge is flashes red (super thirsty) at essentially half a tank, when there are still 4 gallons remaining.  I guess what I really need to do is strap on a few jerry cans and run it dry.

I think it must have something to do with how or.. where they mount the gauge sending unit. On my Z, there are times when running level it will show about true but on inclines it falls so far it starts flashing when I get down to around 1/2 tank. I also think the float may be too small..or the slide too hard to move to always stay on top of the fluid level.

After about 1300 miles of trail and street riding I would say my average fuel mileage is 15-16 Mpg. (very consistently)
