Fuel Range
« on: September 14, 2020, 04:05:09 PM »
What is everyone getting for fuel range? The 6 mpg it seems to get it does not seem right. Thats only 60-70 miles per tank.

Man that can't be right. As lean as they do these...the 800s get in the mid 20s, the 1000s average between 16-18 so I would think the 950 should be in that same area...at least. Might have a leaking injector or something.

I havent checked mine yet, but I cant imagine it would be that low of fuel mileage.

To the original poster...Have you had the recall checked/fixed?

I made a 70 mile trip over (mostly) crushed gravel with about 15 miles on rocky trails.  At the end of the day, I added about 3.8 gallons of fuel.

This weekend, we went about 45 miles through deep southern Utah sand (Barracks Trail, 4WD, low gear), and added 4.6 gallons.  The machine had been flashing flow fuel for a long time, granted we were climbing hills and the fuel sending unit reads low fuel if on an incline.  According to the spec sheet, the machine holds +9 gallons.  Can anyone confirm?  What maximum amount of much fuel have you added at any one time? I'm at 4.6 gallons.

I'm curious.  When do you guys get low fuel flashes?

Whiterabbit in low gear im running about the same. Thats why i asked the question to start. Im tracking about 9 gallon tank so. With 2 bars left if i add a full 5 gal can it will over flow before the can is empty. So if around 40 miles is alittle over or around half thats still around 70-80 to the tank and only 7-9 mpg.  Just dont seem right. Hoping climbing hills in low gear and spending all day in low gear and under 18 mph is the reason

Gota ask...why so much time in low range? Usually it's just for slow moving and towing. And yes, low range kills gas millage. So does snow and sand riding.

At mines and meadows in PA its all tight wooden muddy trails so dont get above 15 mph most of the time, so stay in low to climb hills, get through mud, and keep the belt good. Plus manual says to. The couple places to get over 15 u might get to 21-25 for couple seconds before dropping to a crawl again.

I almost never use low gear, only rock crawling, mud or sand.
I had 129 miles on last tank with at least a qtr. tank left!
