clutch issues
« on: June 28, 2023, 10:27:03 AM »
I have a ZForce 950 sport. I have the same problems others on here have described and that is the clutch disengaging at 3000 RPMs. I ride in a very rocky area and while dropping off rock ledges it is very hard to keep the machine at 3000 RPMS which results in the machine free wheeling down the steep hill. I see where riders have made modifications to their machines to help with the RPM issue, I was hoping someone could tell me the exact parts they used rather than a general statement about going to a lighter spring and or weights. I am a rookie at all of this but would like to order the correct parts  to resolve the issue I am having.   thank you

I'm sure someone will chime-in with exact parts but all I can offer is what you need...and that is to keep the belt engaged down to a lower RPM which takes either/or both a combination of heavier weights and a spring that offers less resistance. The one thing you do want to keep in mind is that there must be a reasonable buffer between idle and clutch engagement. Most use 500RPMs but some chance it as low as 300 above idle. You can also contact MSC (Main Street Cycle) on which parts to get for your needs.
