Getting ready to add a bilge blower to my clutch inlet hose.
4" diameter blower blows 240 cfm.
My inlet tube is approx. 4" so I'm going to use 4" rubber plumbing couplings with hose clamps to install.
I will run it off a separate dash switch so I can turn off if desired!
I will do photos when completed. Saturday I hope!

Your work looks excellent!  I have a question however. What is your motivation for installing a blower?  Is it in an effort to keep things cool, or more clean, or some other benefit?

Both of those!
Arizona riding is very dusty!
Hopefully keep belt cooler when trail riding too!

Same here. New Mexico also is very dusty and as I have a filter on mine, it gets plugged pretty fast sometimes. I don't use my blower until the CVT temp gets at or over 190F but it does help me get back to camp so I can clear the filter there...usually. Once or twice I only got an extra 10 miles of dusty roads out of using the blower before I had to stop and clear the filter. PITA...but I have to say it sure is nice not to have to pull the cover off every few rides and clear all the build-up out. Not to mention the reduction in warn parts.   

This seems like a pretty good idea to me, as out here in southern Spain the dust in the summer months is pretty crazy too.  I just ordered the same Rule Model 240 12V 4" Blower as you.  Reviews seem to say the Rule blower is fairly quiet for the amount of air it moves too.

How are you measuring the CVT temp?  Did you install the Razorback IR reader?

No way...I'm not spending that kind of coin on this..lol.  But I have used in the past several of the Trail Tech products and decided on their CVT air temp gauge. Good enough for me and it always works well enough to keep me from toasting the belt. This is it here. They also make a surface mount:

How is the fan holding up? Now that I'm funning 32 inch tires I may be adding this mod to cool off the belt.

On mine I use the fan just as a helper when the filter starts restricting and its only a 120CFM 3". Real CVT fans move more like 200+CFMs and do cost a bit more...but that's what you will need on your 950. Might not need one at all...but you won't know until you install something that tells you either the belt temp or at least the exhaust air like mine. Might find its running well under 200F all the time and a fan isn't needed. But for sure a temp monitoring system is always a good first addition. For me it tells me way in advance when the belt is getting in trouble and lets me do something about it before..I need a tow back to camp...lol 

I got the razorback belt gauge for that. I am wanting to install everything at one time so i can take cover off once, install new hd belt, install the sensor, and the blower. Then put everything back together and hit the trail.

I'm curious how much of a problem this overheating is?
What ambient temps are you guys running in to warrant concern of installing a blower?
Are you talking southwest summer temps or even in your mild winter temps?
I would guess that I'll be running my 800 trail in nothing more than 95f maybe, and that would be on rare occasions.
More like in the 80's.
Also, I'm simply a trail rider, not a hot dogger by any stretch

Not so much air temp. But just put on 32s from 27s so much added extra weight, alot of hills in WV and 30 miles into the woods is a long walk back after a blown belt. So its more prevention before an issue then fixing an issue.

Although you might be surprised that most all run between 140-210 normally...and with no "hot-dogging" it will stay on the lower end on the ZF800s. You will probably never have to worry about heat in yours but those of us with clutch mods and larger tires...do. When mine gets up to 190/200 like it did today it gets some help from the fan. If I'm not climbing mountains..and we have those here..it stays around 150-165f which is normal for these.
