Zforce 500 trail cranks good no start
« on: March 30, 2020, 04:24:28 PM »
I have a 2019 zforce 500 trail I’ve done a post recently asking about the fuel filter because we can’t get it started and we thought it was the issue but I don’t think it is. What is happening is that the machine will crank perfectly has spark and all the fuses are good and we cleaned the air filter and still no luck. Help would be appreciate.

Well, it's missing something. Just have to fine out what. Need to know what the fuel pressure and volume is...at least pressure. Then is that spark strong and at the right time...see there were some issues with the CPS. The fact that it does have spark is a good sign but that sensor also is used by the ECM for the injectors.  Then there is compression so we need to test that. Some had problems with cam chains jumping and one tooth would take the compression way down and mess with the timing enough to effect it running. Two and the valves hit the pistons and it's all over.   Also if the coil voltage is too low it won't charge enough to make an arc under pressure so check that the coil voltage is above 11 while cranking.

If you have over 500 miles on the engine, adjust the valve clearance. .08-.12 mm intake and .12-.18 mm exhaust. Mine were very tight. It would start usually on the second or third try, but i could tell it was getting harder to start.  If you've been running the factory air filter instead of the recommended Uni-filter then the valve seats may have some excessive wear from dust intrusion.
