Rear diff problems
« on: May 06, 2021, 04:00:49 AM »
Hi every one and thanks for letting me become a member of your nice Forum :-)
I live in Northern Norway and my son has an Zforce 550. Where we have som problems with the rear diff. The axle that is going in to the diff iss mostly just spinning and the UTV is only moving very slow forward in 4WD. And the oil from the diff i black and contains grinded metall spoon. So i guess it is something broken in the diff. But does anybody have som photos or help for how to take out the diff in the easyest way? I have removed mostly all bolts, so my plan for today was to remove the CV-shafts and try to take it out, but are there any tricks cause it looks realy tight.

best reagads Florian

Welcome...and sorry that's happening. Mine in my 800 also has a problem in that it's grinding-up case (aluminum) somewhere slowly and will also need to come out someday soon. Have not done it yet but yes, both CV axles have to be removed and all the mount bolts. I'm not sure what on the drive line has to come out but on mine probably have to unbolt the parking brake disk from the yoke..just guessing though. There is a flex connection between the engine and the gear case because the engines are rubber/soft mounted. Not sure how that works yet but...won't be long for me. Good luck. Mine has had extreamly loose axles-to-carrier splines sense new and shocked they have lasted this long without stripping-out. Probably what's happened to yours although my oil have never gotten black...probably because I change it every 200 miles or so.
