The Zforce 550 uses the same engine and cv-tech clutches as the 500HO. They added a glovebox, a access panel in the bed and a decent spot for fuel filler. This looks like were listening  to complaints about the Z6. Thumbs up to cfmoto.

the Z5 uses the exact same chasis as the ZForce 800, and a variant of the 500HO found on the CForce. The UForce/ZForce 500 HO engines will have the exhaust fan on the passenger side, and have different oil cooler lines.

In the states (at least for now) they also use the exact same wheels and tires that come on the 2015/2016 ZFORCE 800s...

Has anyone taken the shifter assembly apart. I was wondering if they addressed the sloppiness the z6 had. The z8 seems pretty good when I looked at it. Only reason I ask is when friends ride my z6 they want one. I have a hard time recommending it because of the changes I had to make. Fine for me but not for the wrenchless.

I have had my Z8's apart. The detents in the shifter head are slightly off from the transmission's detents. I had to adjust the rod so that they would match as close as they could in every position. It's just plastic and the next time I have to have it apart I may do my own..."adjusting"... to the detents just so it all matches. Even now I sometimes it kicks out of low if I haven't ensured its in all the way. And I had to put a manual stop on the linkage to keep it from going past Park. Yeah, they need to work on them a bit.

You cant compare the Z6 to the Z5/ZForce 500 HO because they are NOT the same chasis. At all.

The Z5/ZForce 500 HO are on the EXACT same chasiss as the Z8, right down to the shifting linkage. The only difference will be the motor, and the linkage that attaches to the motor.

Unfortunatly, the same location as the Z8. And Yes, all the accessories that fit the Z8 will fit the Z5

The 550 is 10" smaller in width compared to the 800cc, from what I see on the specs. How bad is it for stability issues? Since in my place there is no limitation on the trails I ride. One more question! I think that the most common problem in these automatic machines is the CVT, and in some cases (rentals for example), the gear selection box. How expensive are the spare parts that are worn out more and how difficult is it to replace them? 

From what I can tell the standard width is around the 53" mark. The EX models are quite a bit wider and wider gives you a better ride. My z6 non EX isn't bad. I don't feel like it's going to tip over as long as I don't do something very stupid. The 550 has CV-Tech clutches in it. They are well made and you shouldn't see many problems with them. Changing the belt should go quick after you have done it once or twice. Belts are not a high cost item and should last a long time between changes. I did price parts for cfmoto before I bought mine. The prices pretty good compared to other brands I have owned over the years. You will have to price out parts like brake pads, starters,cv axles, wheel bearings ect. where you live. What parts you keep on hand depends on how many machines you are running and how long it will take to get them in should you need them. If you get to the point of deciding what you need to keep on hand, I'm sure a list can be made. If you are concerned with doing repairs yourself, I would find a shop that will treat you fair and just bring them in.
