Front sub-frame?
« on: January 05, 2019, 06:58:30 AM »
In common with most other ATV and UTV the front suspension fits to brackets welded to the front of the chassis. This means any major hit on the front wheels will result in the chassis getting bent and the camber/castor way out of alignment.

This would normally mean a new chassis but what SHOULD be is the front section be a BOLT ON section carrying the differential and arms meaning a swift and cheaper repair, rather like a cars front sub-frame.

I now have 3 vehicles with the camber way out and pulling hard to one side and even with a 10 ton body jacking kit it is very difficult to get the bugger back in line and that is with new arms.

Anyone got the dimensions and measurements for the front suspension, I can't seem to find any.

The place that rents machine in New Hampshire where I ride has insurance but also has a list of fee's for common damage that gets done. I forget how they set it up but they don't pay for damages when a customer hits stuff. I think they have coverage for a total loss or rolling them but the customer pays something like $1000 if they wreck it. like $200 for a tire ect. That's on the UTV's the 4 wheelers are cheaper.

We have a 'disclaimer' that says the idiot pays for ANY damage and that has meant $00 and $500  and $200 so far but with a radiator at 4350 it is very easy to run up a parts bill and labour on top, even at the ridiculous rate of $10 an hour for the  mechanic
A chassis is $2,000,stupid price plus two days work as well as wishbones, hubs, shafts etc, alloy Wheels we get fixed by Wheelfixit for about $25.
A bolt on section would save a LOT of work and money.
