Total noob question here. Want to add a spare tire for our Z500. If we get a front rim/tire will that work for a rear flat without any issues to ride out if needed? (after taking a huge chunk out of a rear sidewall this weekend, I'd feel better if I had a spare)

** Just wanted to update and share the cost the OEM front rim if anyone else looks for it. It is $180 (yes, for one front rim).Needless to say, aftermarket here I come.

Yes, that is what I would do. The fronts do fit the rear. Just carry some extra air in it just in case it does need to go on the rear. Can always let a little out for the front. About 12-15lbs should do it.

Thank you for the quick reply!

We just carry tire plug kit and an infiltrator. In fact many newer cars come with that now instead of a spare wheel.

Yeah me too..both types of plugs, patches, glues, Fix-a-Flat, Air compressor, straps and a jack. But with the 8-ply radials I have never needed any of it...except once I popped a bead before having the compressor. Nothing sense.
