2022 Z Force 500 Timing Chain
« on: February 17, 2024, 03:25:08 PM »
Hello from New Brunswick, Canada!  In my search for a reasonably priced SXS, I’ve almost settled on a new 2023 UForce 600.  However, my local dealer has what appears to be a gently used 2022 Z Force 500.  It’s got the Super ATV doors, windshield, back window, so those are a few things I wouldn’t have to buy.  It’s got about 2200 km on it.  My concern is that the salesman told me that it just had the timing chain replaced.  Should I be worried that it’s already needed a timing chain, and could there be more problems lurking?  I’ve always preferred to buy something that’s never needed to come apart.  This would have warranty to 5,000 km.  Thanks for any info!

Timing chains and related parts have been an issue on many 500s The fact that it went that long without an issue says it's likely going to be OK for quite a while longer. Now with that said you always are taking a chance buying used..either from an individual or dealer. Assume it's had a normal to hard life and no one tells the truth.. and go from there.
