So when I was replacing my exhaust pipe this weekend I found a anti-freeze leak when I removed the rear hatch above the motor.   I tried to tighten this bolt but it just spun and never tightened.   What is the purpose of this, is it some type of cooling system bleeder?   Should it tighten?

Yes, they are just threaded bolts with seal washers used to bleed air off the top end when filling. They should not just spin. Says it's stripped and can blow right out of there. Best get a new thermostat cover and plug....and gasket.

Wouldn't be in the service manual but it looks like it isn't sold separately from the head...and its over 700 bucks so,,if it were me I would pull it, drill it larger and tap it for a larger bolt/plug. Get the right size drill,tap and plug though. Otherwise you are looking at another head. Might get a used one on ebay.
