I have a 2016 zforce 500 ho. Just got back from the dealer for a water pump update. In there story is says they did a valve adjustment. Weather that has anything to do with it or not I don't know. This dealer is a absolute p.i.a to deal with. I'll try attatch a video.

Looking for ideas what could cause it. It's got a brand new air filter also

To answer your question, most CFM engines are running lean enough that you may well see some glowing in the pipes right off the heads in the dark...and the stainless material is pretty thin. I would check the plug and see how it's burning, maybe check the valves myself just to be sure. There are also some other tests you can do to test the A/F ratios but that takes some equipment.

what is the deal with thw waterpump update my dealer has never mentioned it

The water pump was leaking since I bought it and very long story short it ended up getting a update where they changed the whole side of my engine which apparently fixed a few issues such as a oil leak.

And I was hoping I could do some tests other than pulling the plug which I am just about to do

And yes I would love to check the valves myself. Does anyone know the specks? I cannot find them either.

Plug looks good to me.

Yeah. Looks normal. Actually mine are a bit lighter then that even.

I guess maybe it's just cheap thin exhaust pipe and I'm going to assume that is the only reason there is that fan that blows on it just a few inches after the head.

A few years ago CFM had some fires that they say were caused by heat buildup. Shortly there after these air-things started showing up.

Has anyone removed their fan?

I was thinking of wrapping my exhaust to re-rout clutch piping.  but now I'm wondering if that will keep too much heat in and cause damage somewhere els.

I know people have done it...and not reported any problems from doing it so..maybe it's safe..IDK..
