Time to winterize
« on: November 24, 2020, 12:03:40 PM »
Morning All,
Time to winterize is soon upon me,
A shot of fogging oil in the spark plug hole, top off the fuel & stabilizer, engine oils n filter changes,,
Anyone have any further tips or preferences for the cf500 & 600's?
Thanks

Keeping it on a smart charger/Tender is always a good idea.

I love NOCO but i use it on my truck/jeeps never on power sports equiptment.
I have a set of NOCO ring terminals i put on my battery for easy access incase of jump starting. What battery charger by them would you recommend

These are smart chargers so they will auto maintain once full.

nice lineup of the noco stuff, but I'm wondering if i can trickle charge right thru the cigarette lighter and never need to take off the seat/pull the battery/or install a pig tail connector,.
If possible, trickle charge thru the cigarette lighter socket would work for me..ya why be normal.

Nope. The acc. adaptor/cigarette lighter port is keyed...meaning there is only power or a connection to the battery when the key is on. Also..you want a charger that tappers-down as it charged and actually stops sending power when the battery is fully charged. An actual trickle charger never stops and that drops acid levels faster and exposes plates...and shortens battery life. Do yourself a favor and rig a pigtail and use any smart charger....and every about two years pull that battery, unseal it and top off the cells with distilled water. You can get 5+ years out of it. Some have got 8 years.
