Howdy folks. I have a new 600 I'm picking up in a week. I was looking at the accessory catalog and have picked out a few things. I'm going to start with the front and rear bumpers. They are on backorder but I can wait. I also want to do a full skid set. I had looked at Iron Baltic as that's what I have on another machine but the OE ones seem to be a good value too. However, here's a question. Are the HDPE OE ones a complete set like the aluminum version? The picture in the catalog makes them seem a lot less complete than aluminum but nothing in the details to explain how many pieces in each set. Also, I'd like to do hand and thumb warmers. Does anyone know the bar diameter so I can find the right set or better yet, have a recommendation on brand? TIA...

I notice that you are in MA, which gets some snow...
Others have put on aluminum skid plates and found that they "stick" to snow while the OEM plastic skid plates slide over snow easily.  Outside of expensive cost, it is something to consider.  Are there that many rocky places in MA? Probably not like out in Moab or Continental Divide Trail...  just thoughts.

We ride in Maine and yes, there are plenty of rocks. That said, no aluminum for me. I'm after the plastic skids. I think I'm going to get the IB HDPE full set. I already ordered the Heat Demon grips and thumb warmer. Only thing left is the front and rear bumpers plus a set of mirrors....

I picked up the machine yesterday. I also have the Iron Baltic HDPE skids, Heat Demon grips, and mirrors on the bench ready to install. I'll probably pop the grips and mirrors on today and save the skids for when I'm feeling more inspired. My initial impression is very positive. The fit and finish is superior to my two Polaris machines. I'm still undecided on the bumpers. I would like to add them but I'm not sure how much length they add? I have an enclosed trailer with an 18' box and 5' V. I'd like to fit all three machines inside but am not confident it will work. So, if the CF has to ride in the bed of the truck, I'll need the tailgate shut and I only have a couple inches to spare as it is. Can anyone confirm how much length the bumpers will add? It looks like the rear won't be an issue but the front might add a couple?

Maybe rain on your parade?  It looks to me like the bumpers add about 3.5"-4.0" on front and rear.  Bumpers have to take up some room/length somewhere.... just sayin.

Yep, I watched Bob's videos a while back. The rear appears to be a non issue as the only length it adds is above the tailgate. However, the front seems to protrude about 2" beyond the winch fairlead which is currently the furthest point there. Pics of the mirrors and heated grips...

FYI, if anyone is interested in bumpers, I have found a better solution than the OE ones. Rival makes a set that bolts on in place of the factory short bumpers instead how the CF accessory bumpers bolt on over them. I generally find that OE is a cleaner install but not in this case. I'm not sure if I'm going to add them but do think they are a great product...

Looked at non oem bumpers.  Wasn't sold on actually replacing existing bumper, as opposed to adding additional bumper in front.  Finish on after market didn't seem to match either.  Also, oem has a nice mounting option for additional light. $170 for an oem front bumper isn't to bad.  Just my 2 cents...

Well, the finish on the aftermarket units don't have to match if you're removing the parts they are supposed to match.
