NEW 2020 CFMOTO 600 2UP ISSUES
« on: September 28, 2020, 09:07:46 AM »
Good morning, Just joined this forum seems like alot of intelligent people also looks fun! I have been riddled with just Minor issues that seem to bug me about this 2020 600 Cforce 2UP. I have about 170 Miles on it so i would figure not to have so many at first. So it started out with the Shifting. What a nightmare ive tried every possible way of shifting it and its not smooth by no means. Then i noticed that it was real jumpy when trying to take off in gear H or L. Pulled the CVT Housing off clean as a whistle just alot of maring on the side of the sheeves. Cleaned the sheeves replaced the belt with a Timken Ultimax ( Good Reviews ) Now it hasn't been broken in much still doing the hot and cold cycles. But when i shift from Park to L or H it will creep and will not stay still. So this may be fixed once the belt has time to break in. But the Original belt has a bunch of glassy looking sides and just looked burnt. So my next issue is now with the new belt. its damn near impossible to shift from L or H into any other gear once the Secondary keeps moving with this new belt. I have also developed a wierd low speed wobble. Hard to explain but it feels when you are just Idle/ Moving slowly that im rolling over river rocks. The whole machine shakes and feels like its in 4LO with Lockers on. but everything is unlocked ive check. I also only get about 40 miles on it before my Gas light flashes and i open tank and its pretty low. Feels a bit excessive on consumption. ADDER: Also ive had a situation where i turn hard left or right on Low Gear and barley give any throttle that it will choke and die. Strange.

I did the oil change on it myself, Dealer wanted $290 for a oil change and told me thats 170 for labor and rest is parts. Amsoil / HiFlo filter was 53. and 2 beers. Belt service forget about it. told me 6 months or better to get to even diagnois. So kinda scared to take it into a dealer ship with this many issues that im sure "warranty wont cover" and may not have my machine for 6 months. I guess im ranting but mostly looking for advice on what to do with this machine or any others experience.

Any help greatly appreciated. RANT OVER. :)

Wow...sounds like it needs to go in to a reputable dealer. For sure there is a clutch problem and who knows about the fuel millage and other stuff. Clearly it needs professional help.

Yes I agree unfortunately I dont want to lose my machine for 6mths thats the closest dealer the one I purchase i guess I could call others and see what there time line is. Thanks!

EDIT: So called a couple dealerships and found one said they would take a look at it in about a week. Told me definitley something isnt right. Said he would place me infront of warranty repairs to get it looked at the fastest.

I could use any other suggestions if anyone has had any experience.

Sounds like the idle speed is too high and causing the clutch to be slightly dragging.

On my unit, your correct on the oil change/air filter screwing, my dealer even left out a cover gasket and grommet on each unit, then i could see the oil plug wasn't tight on one of them, and even didn't grease any bearings, he said they checked the cvt belt and not buying it, and i requested a valve clearance check and he said no need in an email.
Ya, i know the pain.

PAULP: Yep i asked for the same thing! he said we dont do the valve timing until about 100 Miles or unless running rough.

My thing is. Manual says do this Dealer says do that. When my quad breaks im assuming its dealers Fault...

maybe im crazyyy... warranty is no fun...

agreed! fyi before my 3oo mile trip this last weekend i opened the cover to the cvt, put on the glasses and the belt was still in great shape at 625miles on them including the 2 cf500's i have, so just blew out the inside area, wiped as much down as i could with alcohol (not the belt), cleaned a minor amount of black dust then carefully bolted it back up, not scary at all.
I changed te air filters as well to uni-filters (oil type) and as long as you don't forget there's a factory plastic connector that's inside the oem filter hosing that u need to pull out and put on the new unifilter, piece of cake...

I just replaced my belt with this exact belt and suddenly have the same exact issue where it creeps forward without any gas and cannot shift at all from L to H or anything else while stopped.

I'm going to start my own post, but I wanted to link here because you and I have the same belt and the same problem.

Sorry it took me so long to reply, Covid and all... anyways i dropped mine off at the dealership about a month ago. He did tell me when he rode it sounded like the clutch may be out of line or the shims may need to be replaced or removed to correct. But told me all this would be covered under warranty because changing a belt under 1000Miles is highly unlikely i showed him my old belt and he said probley was on my error but they will still warranty. He did say that the Timken Choice is alot better than the $280 CFMOTO Belt. So who knows what service life ill get from it.

Let me know your outcome.

Honestly not sure. I would assume so but the best option is to go to Timken Website and do a Belt Lookup. This will cross reference your model to a Belt in stock. This will be close in measurement but obviously a tad bit bigger due to a new belt vs worn in belt. so may be .5Mil-1.5Mil bigger.

Goodluck! UA483 was the belt it gave me for my and your rig.

10-4, yes they gave me the same.
But my only question for your issue, did the issues you've been having get any better or about stay the same after the timken belt replacement?

So heres the latest on the CFMoto Dealership and what they found. So it took them almost 2-1/2 months to even look at it. First they fixed a winch recall something about thicker wire and a new thumb control. Next they couldnt diagnois the issue with the LED Screen going out halfway. Then i got a call about the belt. They said all my issues was related to the Aftermarket Timken Ultimax UA483 Belt i installed. They said it was out of spec as far as width and that it was digging into the secondary and constantly keeping it running. This in the end resulted in all kinds of issues like stalling, wheel hop on tight turns on pavement etc... So they replaced the belt at around the tune of $344.56. Then called me back and said well it seems your clutch slides are rattling super super loud. I said okay whats the deal... Bike has 200 miles on it and this is continuing to be a issue. They responded with the gray slides from factory have been a problem since they came with them from factory. They now have a superceded part that is a yellow cluch slide. Suppose to hold tolerences better than the factory gray slides. Either way i was mad so i told them we need to proceed to a warranty claim due to this being a part that is from factory that they have updated it on there own. He said he would try and get the parts on the way and wait for warranty to see what they approve. If they do not approve the parts for that is $20 / Labor is around $130-$150. So who knows at this point.

Other than them being backed up with work ( Which seems common everywhere being off season of riding ) they didnt do a bad job. Just wish they would have been a little less selly, and more fix... trying to sell additional stuff.

This is still on-going.

Ill keep ya posted!
