How do you adjust the clutch?
« on: January 13, 2021, 06:56:22 PM »
I searched for "adjust clutch", and all I get is a couple of posts about "you may need to adjust your clutch".

My brand new quad was running nice. Then, with about 90 miles on it, it started clanging down around the clutch area. I took it in and got it fixed under warranty. Now when I give it gas it takes a lot longer to engage. When I come to a stop, the brake kicks in and stops me like 20 feet before a stop sign. I can't roll up to the sign anymore. Also, when I give it gas, I have to give it more and more until it lurches. Before, I gave it a bit of gas and it bumped but it didn't lurch. It is now out of warranty.

I thought I remembered something from last year about adjusting the clutch, but I can't find it now. Can anyone help out? I have found several videos about taking it out and disassembling it, but nothing about adjusting it.

Usually you’d get some advice to put some heavier weights in the primary, or change the spring for quicker engagement, but in my opinion, and I’m no specialist, it sounds like you may have something going wrong in there, or mabe just a bunch of crap in there, you should probably start by taking it apart and clean it up a little to inspect, there’s plenty of videos out there, hopefully it’s an easy fix for ya!

Yeah I agree. Something's wrong. Get a service manual, pull the clutches. Clean and inspect everything. Then assemble exactly as it outlines. Sorry, I don't have a CF600 manual.

I don't know but I do know thanks to people like me who collect them and freely give them out, they have become very tight about even selling them. Just about the only people that can get them are dealers.
