cforce 600 touring winch fuse?
« on: October 04, 2021, 12:26:29 PM »
Is there a fuse for the winch on the 2020 Cfroce 600 touring?  If so, where is it located?
I hear the relay click when I press the In/Out switch but I'm not getting any power at the winch itself.
Thanks

Generally the motor power supply cables from the battery, both positive and negative, are not fused. The controller power is however, through the system fuse box. But if you hear it clicking, it probably has power. I suggest after you inspect all the cables and controller connections, you put a volt meter on the cables at the motor and touch the controller. Place the common or ground on any frame bolt and the positive lead on either post. You will get power on one side pressing the OUT and the other pressing the IN if the controller is working. If so and the motor isn't turning the winch is locked-up. Start by unspooling the cable and trying it. If still locked...replace the winch..yeah it's only a 20-dollar Chinese winch..not worth fixing.. so get a better one. Or if it's still covered under a warranty, try for a new one.

Thank you @NMKawierider
I put a meter on the two terminals of the winch and saw no voltage when I depressed the In/Out button , would that not show me if there's power at the winch or is the motor only referenced to chassis ground and I need to have one of the meter terminals on the chassis?
Cheers

I believe I said put the common/ground lead of the meter to any bolt on the frame, then try the positive on each of the cables at the winch motor..not at the controller. If you do not get power on any AND you hear the controller clicking, then either the controller is bad or...the power supply cable is off at the battery. At the battery, on the positive post, there should be two larger cables and at least one smaller wire. The larger cables are-one for the starter(going to the starter solenoid) and one for the winch. If it has it, the second larger cable on the negative is also to the winch for it's ground so check it too. You can have power to the winch but without that ground...it won't work. Some use a cable...some use the chassis.

Thanks @NMKawierider, looks like the windings got burnt-up.
Going to install a Warn winch now - new post for that - https://cfmoto-forum.com/x6/cforce-600-touring-winch-replacement-with-warn-vrx-35/
