Dealer wanted about $600.00 for first service!!!!  Well that wasn't happening! Just completed oil and filter change, frt. & rear gear oil , greased rear zerks and adjusted valves which only one was slightly off. Total costs...$52.00. Kept records and receipts for warranty. Took a better part of 5 hours with a few sweat breaks. Some plastics and fuel tank to remove but if you take your time and stay organized, its quite easy. Got to know my machine well which was a bonus...staying all stock for now except my uni air filter. If I can do it, so can you!

I just bought a CFORCE 600 Touring, and the dealer wants me to bring it in at 100 miles for the first service. I just read the manual and it says 20hrs/200miles, which includes the valve adjustment. When did you do your 1st service? Also, you did the valve adjustment? I haven't done one in about 20 years, did you just read the manual? Or did you watch something on YouTube? Thanks for any info, just trying to figure out if I am going to do the service myself, and when. Just for context, I used to be a machinist mate/mechanic in the Navy, so I can turn a wrench, I just don't do if very often anymore.

I did my fluid changes at 100 miles which included diffs. I adjusted the valves at 300 miles. Only 1 out of 4 was just slightly off. I went on utube and pulled up videos to learn how to adjust the valves and properly remove the plastics and fuel tank. Not hard at all off you just stay organized. Manual does not state how to adjust valves but just gives the measurements. I have since changed the spark plug also although it looked fine. I highly recommend swapping out air filter to a unifilter that you oil up good. The paper filters are not effective in alot of dust. I run a outerwares over the dual stage uni and it's been golden. I've had my bike 4 months today and have 2400 miles on it. Wife and I can't get enough of it. No problems at all so far except would not go into 4wd on occasion. Researched problem and found 1 of the 2 relays for the front diff to be bad in fuse box. Got one at O'Reilly's for 7 bucks. Problem fixed.

I just hit 90 miles, but I am going to do the service myself at 100 miles (fluids only) and think the valves at 300 like you did. It's ridiculous how much they want.
