I just finished installing the CF Moto Aluminum Skid Plate set on my wife's 600 Touring and it is a fantastic upgrade from the stock plastic.  There are individual plates which protect the lower control arms as well as a center section which basically covers the entire center from the winch back to the trailer hitch.  There is a cut out for the oil drain. 

Nice side benefit is the side plates which go under the running boards really stiffen up the stock support bars.  its now extremely solid when you stand on the running board when you are getting on or off the quad.  The entire system interlocks so it should really stiffen up the entire frame which makes the structure more robust.  Should be a benefit to the quad.

I live and ride in utah and we have a lot of really rocky trails out here so I was concerned about the protection from the stock plastic skid plates.  Not concerned any more.  I highly recommend putting a set on your quad.  Between the additional protection and the general stiffening effect, I think they are a great accessory and worth every penny. 

Install was pretty easy.  I will put an install write-up in the 'how to' section with some photos when i install a set on my 600 this weekend.  I will add photos tomorrow to this post of the one i just finished

Here are a couple of picture of the skid plates installed.  Went in pretty easy and they are super strong and provide a ton of protection.

I hate to sound negative but one thing I see that I don't like about the OE aluminum plates is the transition from the bash plate to the main center plate. There looks to be a 1" or so right angle notch there which would love to catch on rocks. I hope I'm wrong about that?

Yes, there is a notch as you describe. 

I took mine out last weekend on some rocky trails and purposefully tried to find some big ones I could run into and scrape on to see what would happen and all was good.  I didn't run into anything tall enough to hit the front where the notch is.  You would pretty much have to hit something that was winch height to hit that notch.

It's a lot better than the stock plastic. 

We're rolling tomorrow am, I will check in if there is any more news on how they do!

Can you comment on how much weight the total kit added?

As much as I want the added protection, one of my concerns when purchasing my 2022 600T was that it's more than 100 lb's heavier than any other ATV in its class!
