Hello all. I have been beating my head on my desk trying to find a diagram for this system and it almost seems like CFMoto pays to have information about it removed from the internet lol. My evap canister is located on the front of the bike, right behind the right headlight, bolted to the frame. I want to delete it, but I can't find anyone who has done this. I have it torn apart right now in the driveway (Taking the side panels off is ungodly. The screws omg) I can just barely see the lines coming to the canister. My idea is to simply unplug the line coming from the gas tank to the canister, re-route it so it's venting down below the frame or near it, and then cap that port on the canister. Has anyone done this?? A lot of people say that the 21 model doesn't have it, but mine surely does and it's annoying.

I get sputtering/etc when it's running hot and it cuts off on me going forward down steep inclines. My theory is that gas in the tank sloshes into the line going to the canister and chokes it off, causing a stall.

Any help would be much appreciated.

Thank you! I had seen this video also, but it's nothing like mine. The main things I needed to know are to cap the throttle body and then route the hose from the gas tank to a safe and dry spot. Gonna give it a go...

Ok so I made the very poor life decision to delete the evap system. It turns out it WAS worth the effort because the line coming from the gas tank was kinked shut, but they make it absolute hell on this model year. The canister is mounted to the frame with 2x10mm bolts behind the fan/right headlight.

You need to go ahead and buy a tool specifically designed for removing plastic pop rivets in tight spaces. This was by and far the HARDEST part about doing this - Literally just getting the damn things out (I broke about 10 of them, waiting on replacements). Taking everything off took me a good 5 hours of work. Putting it back together took an hour.

For some reason the powers that be at CFMoto decided to put the evap system on this model year in the MOST DIFFICULT place to reach on the entire bike. The setup is like this:

Vent line from gas tank into a check valve (This is where it was kinked, yours probably is too. Poor design)
Line from that check valve into the charcoal canister
Line FROM the canister, back up to another check valve with a sensor
Line from that check valve back up to the throttle body (Recirc line)
There is also a line from the bottom of the canister that simply points upward and is zip tied (For venting - Mine was full of mud)

To get to the canister and its associated lines, you need to:

Remove the seats
Remove the transmission cover and crank case cover (Easy - Just 10mm bolts)
Remove the fender well plastics on both sides. All of them (Hell - Mixture of pop rivets and bolts)
Remove all of the plastics on both sides (For me this was hell. The plastics that are directly against the sides of the gas tank have hidden screws. You have to be super careful not to break them, but you do have to bend the plastics quite a bit to access the screw heads.)
Remove the front racks/bars (Racks are 8xTorx head, bars are 4x 12mm bolts - Easy)
Remove the gauge cluster (2 pop rivets, a few bolts that you have to get at from the fender wells, and one main plug that is locking lever - Really easy actually, just be careful)
Remove the fender flares
Remove the plastics (One big piece) that covers the entire front

Throttle body capped (You can find these caps at pretty much any auto parts store)


Disconnect all of the lines connected to the canister at this point, with the vast majority of your bike torn apart lol.
Unmount the canister, shoot with 12 gauge

I am kicking myself for not snagging a picture of the line when it was kinked and still connected, but I was just trying to get done. You can see the kink here:

Here is how I have it set up for now. I disconnected the check valve that has the sensor, re-routed the wire/plug for it behind the fuse block, and then just reconnected it. No error codes yet lol. I cut the kink out of the line coming from the gas tank, put a hose connector in it, and then used a piece of the tubing I removed from the system to just extend it and route it up behind the gauge cluster. Up high, safe and dry. I'm going to get a breather cap for it to keep water from getting in.



What an annoying mess. No more stalls! CFMoto needs to release a bulletin for this model year.

Thanks for going through the effort of making this!  I've had mine in the shop for way to long just to get it back and them having done nothing to fix the stalling issue.  All they did was tell me it was my gauge cluster was somehow shorting killing the machine. Hell it's actually running worse now that I've got it back.  Hopefully will have time to take the evap out this coming week and fix the issue.
