I've got a 2021 cforce 600 that I bought new and only has 23 miles on it. Starts and runs perfectly even started at -30.
The only thing I've noticed since the day I brought it home was when you let up on the throttle it sounds like it pops or snaps from the muffler. Dealer told me this is normal for these. Anybody else have one that does the same thing

Usually that means an exhaust leak somewhere. Probably at the head or donut if they have them.

Normally this is not usual, but on these 2020+ Cforce 600 it seems to be normal. My sample size is 4 of them now and all do this, all new machines also, 2 of them arent broken in yet, they make a backfire sound a pop when letting off the throttle when under load. I asked the service tech at the dealer who said it is normal on these. It is not overly loud or excessive.

Yup the wife's 2021 600 does it also sense new. Seems to be a little less now that it has almost 600 miles on it but i can't say for certain.

Thanks for the replies. I just wanted some opinions from people who have the same experience with their machines.

The popping they all seem to have is because the machine is tuned so lean from the factory (guessing for emissions).  This has been concerning me too as a lean running engine is not a good thing to have at all for the long run.  Thinking it might need a fuel programer to just bump it up a little or get the ecm tuned, which I know MSC is doing its just a little pricey.

What you guys are experiencing is called overrun fuel cut. It is a parameter in the ECU that's calibrated by CF at the factory. Because these engines run slightly lean to comply with emissions, CF uses overrun fuel cut to help keep piston temps down. The popping you're hearing is the unburnt fuel combusting in the exhaust from the hot header/O2 sensor.

Just snagged a brand new (<1hour) 2022 cforce 600 touring, same popping as described in here when coming off the throttle.

So this is normal behavior for this model? Is there any cause for concern down the road?

Little pops are normal. And not just the 600 at least the smaller ones pop also.

Coming from older atvs (carbureted, no computers) I never had ones that would backfire consistently when letting off the gas. But reading this thread it seems the root cause is normal ECU control behavior and nothing wrong with my fresh off the lot 600 touring.

With a little over 700 miles on it now the wife's 2021 CF 600 no longer pops or backfires out the exhaust. I can not say when it stopped though. Just got better with more miles.

Mine does this too. I don't how much is considered "normal" but mine sounds like someone is lighting off firecrackers behind me. POPOPOPOPOPOP. Mind you I haven't had my first service yet either.

I had the same issues for the first 300 miles and one day I blew a fuse and while replaci g it I noticed that the fuses and relays would wiggle a bit. I So I pulled them all, and took some tweezers and tightened the connectors and the Popping completely stopped.

I have 2022 CForce 600 and mine is also popping on decel. I am still in the breakin period and i haven't tried a higher octane non-ethanol fuel yet, but that will be going in soon maybe that will help.
