The red K&N
You can not run gauze filter oil on a foam filter. Two very different medias. You must use a foam filter oil as it drys to a sticky residue that coats the cell walls and stays-put, trapping the particles. K&N and other gauze oils are just thin oil that stays-put in gauze filters because its one fibrous wick. Most of is use Maxima FAB1 and it's cleaner. We trust it.  Get that K&N oil cleared completely. You can use warm water and dishwashing soap, rinse well and let dry completely before applying the correct treatment. It most be worked completely through both sections of the filter before it looses its transporter..which is an alcohol.

Have not been able to give the 600 any love for the last few weeks but i was finally able to get out today and change that filter oil.
A lot of the K&N oil was in the bottom of the filter and even more at the bottom of the air box.
Glad you pointed that mistake out to me!

Good. Glad you see. The other bad thing is that because gravity takes the K&N oil downward, that leaves the top side of the filter with little or no oil to trap the dust. In it goes..wasting the engine.
