So the 600 has been sitting for a few months and went to start it up and all it does is flicker the lights when it tries to start. I put it on a battery tender and it shows that battery is good. Maybe the starter? Any suggestions on how to check that or should I take it to a dealer?

So the 600 has been sitting for a few months and went to start it up and all it does is flicker the lights when it tries to start. I put it on a battery tender and it shows that battery is good. Maybe the starter? Any suggestions on how to check that or should I take it to a dealer?

Better check your tender because any powersports vehicle sitting two months or more will be very down on battery because of parasitic draw. In other words it should not have the power to start the vehicle especially in cold weather. Really should leave it on the maintainer when in storage at all times.   

Do you have any mechanical knowledge and experience?

A battery can show good voltage levels and still be bad.

Bring the battery to most any auto parts store and have it load tested.  If it fails, replace it.

Check to make sure connections to the battery are clean and tight. Same with the starter solenoid and starter.

Does the starter/engine turn over? If not, jump the starter solenoid. Starter/engine turn over? If not, the problem is between the battery and starter including the starter and grounding system.

Else you'll need to check the ignition system, and that get's involved.

I'll take the battery to a auto parts store this week and try it. If not then I got a dealer near me. I know some stuff mechanically but probably just enough to get me introuble lol.

Put the battery on a charger just now. I tried to start again and all the lights flash and I'm hearing some clicks.

Leave it alone for a few hours and if it still has a problem...and you have checked all the cable connections...battery probably has a problem. Do have it load tested though when/if it shows fully charged.
