Riding at St. Joe state park this weekend was a blast!
« on: April 17, 2016, 07:35:09 PM »
...Including shredding three tires this weekend! :)  On my way down for a three day trip I blew out a tire on the motorhome and found out that the other side needed replaced.  So $400 later I finally got to St. Joe park which is located just outside of Farmington, MO off of 55 (about 1:30hr south of St. Louis).

Once we got settled in I let my roommate and wife ride in the Cfmoto while I rode my KTM, and then switched off (he was wearing the gopro).  We ended up partnering up with the campsite neighbors on their 4wheelers which was nice, I hate going out alone.  They were super impressed with how well the Cf handled on the tight trails, most of these were really for 4wheelers.  I didn't hit or bump one tree until just once on the second day.  We hit some good sized jumps and launched off of some dunes, went through some deep water, over large boulders and rocks, skidded down some high drop-offs, you get the picture :)  I beat on this thing hard!  I think I might race this thing a few times this year.

On the second day Adam scraped something and shredded a tire, luckily I just got my spare wheel and tire in so that was just a slight setback.  I was kind of surprised that there were only a small handful of other side by sides out on the trails.  It was mostly quads and bikes, and all of the utvs were just out playing in the sand.  It kind of made me confident in my driving skills, being that I've never been a quad guy and only ride bikes.  One the last leg of the trails we did come up on a rzr 900s who we followed a while.  He and his girl took us up a nasty rock hill which was the hardest hill we climbed all weekend however...I was pretty surprised on how well we were able to get up that and will post the video soon as it's ready.

We are going back at the end of this month for their Rally at the Mines event which will have some demo trucks and night rides/races.  I'll prb spend these next two weeks getting it ready and try to race it. ;)

I can't believe how hard it is the clean these! lol...man, talk about an all day event.  The black never got clean, it's spotty from the mud still, and I sprayed off the header wrap (cheap crap) so now I have to take that back off and find another solution to the heat issue.

This is the same place, taken last time out...

Well, sounds like you made a good showing...and the Moto hung in there pretty well. Trust me when I say sometime in the near future you will want a different tire..:)

Yeah I was thinking that, and the only reason I bought the same for a spare was to match (and hoping that it would never get used lol).  I'm going to drive these this year and start looking for better ones.

Love the pics and vid - looks like a great place to ride, other than all that rock that WILL do to your tires what you had happen on your ride. Would love to hear a follow-up on whether you commit to any races on the z800. We might as well spread the word on what quality machines we own, as CF Moto US doesn't seem to want to fully commit to promoting them, leaving it up to their dealer network to do the dirty* work.

* In this case, dirty is actually a 'good thing'. I'd rock a CF Moto jersey or hat all day, any day, and I don't even own one yet !

Looks like Rally at the Mines is going to be a BLAST!  I'm definitely going to try out the barrel racing and whatever else they have going on.  There is a guided night ride so I'll also be on that taking some video.  My roommate has a quadcopter with a cam and he's a really good pilot, so hopefully we can get some good shots on this event.  It would be cool to see some other cfmotos out there too!.  You all should check out https://www.facebook.com/RALLYATTHEMINES/?fref=ts
