Revisited area in the Jemez Mountains
« on: July 21, 2021, 08:09:44 AM »
Went for a ride in a place I haven't been in quite a while.  It was not accessible after the fires but is now.  Anyway, for years I had heard about a small plane that had crashed a long time ago (1965) and the wreckage of the plane was still there, the pilot (only occupant) survived. I was never able to find it in many years of searching.  After the fires the plane wreckage became more visible.  My riding buddy is the one that actually found it while riding with his kids, but we went back last weekend.  Here's a couple photos of it, way too far off the trail to try to hike to for me.  The first photo is with my phone zoomed all the way, the second is a zoomed in photo is from my real camera which also shows how much it was raining at the time.  Also, we've gotten a lot of rain up here lately, so things are getting very green.  It was nice to be riding without a massive amount of dust and several large puddles.

I figured you would appreciate knowing were getting rain up here, on this side at least.
