We camped out this weekend at St. Joe state park for the Rally which turned out to be a great weekend.  It rained all of Friday night which made the trails great to ride on, no dust.  The sand was fun too.  We had a night ride and tour of the old mine which took a 30 minute trail and turned it into a 3 hour ride.  You could see people entering the trail when we were leaving, there had to be 500 machines here! 

The second day I met up with a neighbor and took off down into the trails, and not 20 minutes in I hit a root turning right up a hill and bent my tie rod.  I was being waved up by another sxs and couldn't see out of my windshield which turned a simple mistake into a costly trail fix.  I got it bent back straight but it must have also bent the rack.  I finished the day with some clever left turns and just taking it easy.  No way was I giving up so soon! 

There were drag races and barrel racing (which I was going to do) and I ended up beating two rxr's, and 800 trail and 900.  I had the commander 4 within my reach but he was way too fast out of the hole.  We also got to watch some 200+hp machines go at it which was awesome!  Man I really wanted to do the barrel racing!  I know I could have placed or won that. 

We followed some of those high horsepower machines to some jumps and watched them a while, then figured might as well.  So we hit them too, just no photos   I'm working on the videos of this weekend and will post them soon as I can.  Enjoy.

Very cool. Looks like non-stop fun!

It was fun until I bent the tie rod and blew the tire off its bead.   That only slowed me down and prevented me from racing more, but still, we had a blast. 

Oh...and don't ever ride without rear fenders!  I did my little experiment and will now promptly be putting them back on lol!  I could feel the mud hitting the back of my neck. 

I'll be building my own doors very soon, and am having a cage built from a guy I met down here at the rally.   His work is amazing so I'm having him build tree sliders, rear bumper and a lower cage to tie into the front.   

Looks like a really great time..
