Got out for another ride on the 15th. This time only the first 2 1/2 hours were solo. It was a nicer temperature, still cold, but not below freezing. Went the the little pond again, no ice left around the edges. It was nice and calm there, so I included a photo since it had a very clear reflection in the pond. The ride was nice, once it warmed up, it stayed nice until the sun went down. Didn't cover much territory, 55 miles total, but was out for 13 hours again. The wildlife was much more cooperative, I was able to get several photos of elk, deer and a hawk. In the posted photo, the crow is holding a stick and just after I snapped the photo, the crow threw the stick at the hawk. Not sure what the intent was there, but the hawk wasn't interested and didn't move. We went on the same road that the CF Moto died several rides back, but further in. We stopped to check out some ruins, found several nice pieces of pottery, they were all pieces of a single large bowl. I took the to the 4 wheeler so I could get a photo of them pieced back together, no worries, the pieces were put back in place after the photos. Judging by the curvature of the pieces I had, the bowl would have been very large. When we got ready to move along, my buddies 4 wheeler wouldn't start, another battery issue, used the little portable jump starters that we carry and got it going. He found he had a loose positive cable with some corrosion, so we took care of that and it started fine from then on. Just thought it was odd that it was the same road that I had my battery issue on. I'm curious about how many photos other riders typically take on their rides, my buddy doesn't take many at all and I take a ton, 74 on this ride. Anyway, enough rambling, here are some of the photos from the ride.

About 4 or 5 elk, at least one small bull.

Alien head made another appearance.

There is a deer in the brush. These 3 weren't as cooperative.

Tried a little experiment with the flashlight at the end of a long exposure.
