A NM Desert run on 3/19/16
« on: March 20, 2016, 11:28:20 AM »
Jogon30 and myself along with some friends and family got together for a run on the desert yesterday, 3/19/16. Shot a bunch of video so I pulled a few snapshots from the footage before starting the edit process. The one video I didn't get was the one I really wanted to get. It was of a very brave Jogon30 taking on a very dangerous off-camber situation at the top of a 900- foot hill.. one I and several others had no stones for and went around...lol

He made it...Thank G..!

Anyway, enjoy these extractions for now.

Glad you found them. And yes, lunch was great-thanks! Hope the lost-guys had a chance to get some.

Yes, you can't keep filling the lungs with dust and expect nothing to happen. There are some reports of lung conditions resulting it death from this stuff. This mask is what I and my friends all have and have been using for years. The one I have is actually my first..bought back ins 2007. Well worth the money. Save your lungs...and your life and get one. Get the wife one too.

And the GPS Track

Oh and just for fun I zoomed in on the area Jogon30 crossed along with a couple of others...and I and the rest of us said "F-that"! and went around.
My hat's off to you Jose. Took huge stones to cross that..in a narrow Moto...It was major pucker when we saw your wheels come off the ground for a second..major!...lol

Here a screen shot:

I sure enjoy your videos, and the openness of the area you ride in. Reminds me (may ways) of the area when I lived and traveled on Baffin Island, however, it wasn't on sand but snow  ;D .

Oh I just download the .gdb file from my GPS (my old Garmin in this case) to my P/C, then open it in Google Earth, set it to play as slow as possible with the controls in the upper left corner, then with my Power Director screen video capture running, I record it. Then I bring it in to my editing program (Power Director 14) and crop, zoom, take out the breaks, slow it down even more and add anything like titles, music...ect. Then render it. That's it.

Cheers NMK will have to give it a go next time I'm out, not sure if I can pull the files from my garmin though but will give it a try, really need to get round to editing all the footage I've got from last few days I was out riding.

Use your mapsourse to download the file from the garmin, then save it as that .gdb file.

cheers NMK, although I use Basecamp and a newer Montana GPS, had a quick look on youtube though and it seams it can still be done, just a slightly different way though, will be sure to try it out next time I'm out and about on the trails, which will be a few months away sadly.

Hey Jogon I'm not sure if you've heard of a Wolf Snout mask, but they're supposed to be good.  I've considered them for Summer riding when it gets so dusty here in the Midwest.

I had several wolfsnouts. Tossed all of them. Too much PITA and never would seal right for me.
