I purchased a new Z1000 last September and on my 1st ride I let a friend take my 2015 Uforce 800 on ride with our group, on the way back from the ride I was behind the Uforce 800 and it started smoking, I beeped the horn and had her pull over, I checked the temp gauge and it wasn't hot so I checked the oil and it was empty so we towed it back to the campground. I filled oil and started engine and looked for leak, I saw that the oil was spewing out of the oil lines. I called dealer and they said to bring it in and that there was a recall for faulty oil lines and they would process the claim and it would be covered. After about 4 months and not hearing back from them I reached and left numerous messages and finally received a call from the manager, he said he would reach out to the CFMOTO rep and get back to me, After a few days one of his employees called to tell me that CFMOTO wouldn't cover the failure, the engine is shot. I did buy this unit used, 1 year old with 380 miles on odometer, not from dealer. What do you guys think? Can I fight this or am I out of luck?

I would take this straight to CFMoto-USA yourself and get all documentation. If there was a recall, It should have been fixed.

I would also get a statement from the original owner.

You had an interesting thread going on this last Oct.

I'm located in Canada so most recalls & warranty issues are similar to the US. I do not see anything related to faulty oil lines, have you found any documentation? He said she said isn't going to help.

Whenever a change of ownership occurs the manufacturer or distributor needs that updated information for safety recalls & warranty issues....legal stuff. Did you do anything to advise them & can verify?

I didn't even think to get with CFMOTO after I purchased, I was so excited to ride, this was my 1st ATV vehicle. Do any of you guys know where the best place to buy an engine?

You can buy crate engines from Alpha-sports or have the existing engine remaned by nFlow.

Any dealer can order the engines, you will get killed on freight getting it from alpha, the engine will go from MN to ME then shipped to wherever you live... all truck freight. Get it from your local dealer, CFMOTO sells the engine in long block form or complete. The complete comes with clutches, stator, flywheel, injectors, throttle body, intake manifold, etc...
